The Samsung Galaxy S2 has been voted by the UK public as the number 1 Smartphone of 2011, pipping even the iPhone 4S at the post. Needless to say, this will hardly come as much of a surprise to many, considering the massive sales accumulated worldwide and seemingly unchallenged reverence with reviewers and users alike.
Competition has been more fierce than ever and taking the title no mean feat, with the likes of the HTC Sensation, the Motorola Droid Bionic and of course the Apple to take into account.
Included in the plus-points which helped the S2 clinch victory was the quality of the 8 megapixel camera, the slick and lightweight form, its ease of integration with other Samsung products and, perhaps most importantly of all, it’s incredible Super AMOLED display.
When looking at the key players striving for the top spot this year it is becoming increasingly easy to see why the Android OS is beginning to look like the most dominant force of all, with the appeal of iOS perhaps being drawn into question. Android continues to gain strength day by day, with its open source nature allowing massive scope for Apps and recent updates including battery management and more.
All in all, the incredible speed, design, features and quality rose head and shoulders above the competition to take the title in the UK, with the S2 still enjoying sales of a truly biblical level across the rest of the world.
