Reports show that sales of the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 have reached over 30 million so far! This is compared to reports that the Apple iPhone had reached the 4 million sales figures in a number of days. Samsung also modestly showed that the Galaxy S2 had already been breaking records, as in sales terms, it attained the 10 million status within the first year that it was offered. Of further note from Samsung, was the report that increased sales of the Galaxy S2 was considered the fastest in the company’s history.
It was during the 2011 Mobile World Congress that Samsung introduced the Galaxy S2. The device then achieved distinction by the sale of over 3 million units within the initial 55 days, when internationally available. The other aspect of significance is that 20 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S have been sold, making it the foremost selling product in the Samsung range. These figures are supported by reports of “rave reviews” from the marketplace and acclaim from consumers worldwide.
Verizon, a primary carrier, made a decision not to include the Samsung Galaxy S2 in its Smartphone range. However, this was more than offset by T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint carrying the device in the United States. The Galaxy S2 is retracing the steps of the original Samsung Galaxy S, which is a great success for the company, following its introduction at the 2010 Mobile World Congress.
