Following the huge, albeit rather disappointing for some, announcement of the upcoming iPhone 4S last week, two Android heavyweights have also been prepped to enter the arena for battle and could just give Apple a run for their money. Indeed, enthusiasts and curious observers alike are very highly anticipating the arrival of both the Google Samsung Nexus Prime and the HTC Vigor.
Neither device has officially confirmed specs as of yet so it is once again down to the rumor mill and educated guesswork, but the suggestion seem to point to two equally epic devices.
With regard to the OS there is of course a clear winner, as the Nexus Prime is set to be the very first device to use the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, while the Vigor will instead be shipped with 2.3 Gingerbread.
Processor-wise, the Nexus Prime is rumored to be packing a 1.2GHz dual-core chip while the Vigor may clock in at 1.5Ghz, though of course this does not make the world of difference. The Nexus is also poised to feature a massive 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display, with the Vigor on the other hand offering a display measuring in at 4.3 inches. Both devices will be backed with 1GB of RAM, though the Vigor may trump the Nexus by way of camera quality, offering 8 megapixels rather than 5.
All in all both handsets are incredibly impressive and it may come down to a few elements of personal preference, including that of the Samsung TouchWiz interface Vs HTC Sense. Either way, hopefully there will not be a great deal longer to wait, as there is a rather strong rumor doing the rounds that the Nexus Prime at least will be arriving as early as October 27th.
