An online company, HomeAway, Inc has recently acquired another online vacation rental company, REA Group Limited’s Australian vacation rental brand — realholidays.com.au.— the global online real estate advertising company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. The online company recent acquisition, according to company information, marks its entrance into the Australian real estate market, and its expansion from Europe, South America, North America, and into Asia-Pacific.
Another player in the real estate market, Newport, Rhode Island-based Bellevue Realtors has been recently acquired by another full service real estate company — William Raveis Chapman Enstone. The Bellevue Real Estate School along with its sales activity will be continued by the new owner.
The Australia-based online rental company, which was recently, acquired by the Austin-based online company, realholidays.com.au currently features 21,000 rental property listings.
According to the online company’s CEO, Brian Sharples, Australia is a remarkable travel marketplace, and HomeAway is happy to continue REA Group’s work in the said market, and to provide even greater choice to people traveling in Australia.
Sharples also said the online company is looking forward to serve realholidays.com.au customers, and to help them benefits from the online rental’s technology while marketing their properties a new, worldwide marketplace of vacation rental travelers.
The online company, HomeAway, is planning to add realholidays.com.au’s existing listings to HomeAway.com.au, the company’s recently-launched site that will have listings from the Australian market and other countries around the globe.
HomeAway.com.au, the recently launched site, is said to be managed by James Cassidy from the online company’s Melbourne office, and previously from realholidays.com.au. The recently launched site by the online company, according to the report, already has 105,900 vacation/holiday rental listings from 99 countries.
