NAR Grants Two National Charities for US Soldiers Assistance

The National Association of Realtors or NAR is thanking the American Troops by giving support to two national charities. This is inline with the upcoming holiday season of sharing and giving, NAR will be providing housing assistance and care packages to US soldiers and their families in the United States and abroad.

NAR’s housing assistance and care packages will be given through two national charities— USA Cares and Operation American Soldier.

The two national charities USA Cares and Operation American Soldier will be given 4,000 exclusive care packages support assistance from NAR to soldiers.

Ron Phipps, NAR’s President said that every holiday and thanksgiving season, the association would like to recognize the remarkable sacrifice for the nation’s men and women in service.

One of the two national charities, the Operation American Soldier, which is founded by Wendy and John Rocca from Watertown, Massachusetts in 2003 will receive $10,000 grant. The charity was founded when the couple found out that there are soldiers stationed outside the country do not receive mails.

The Roccas were announced as NAR Magazine’s Good Neighbor Award winner this month, during its annual conference held in New Orleans.

USA Cares, still one of NAR’s two grantee national charities will be assisted through its Operation Home Relief, a successful Facebook Causes campaign.

Operation Home Relief is sponsored by HouseLogic, NAR’s consumer website where consumers can donate to the “cause” or join it. The Cause becomes one of Facebook’s fastest-growing causes.

USA Cares is one of those non profit national charities that provides financial assistance for service men and women in the military.
