The real estate sales in Memphis were led pricewise by a $45 million project of multifamily buildings. This construction was 50 percent of the 10 costliest transactions in 2011. The other 50 percent were in retail and industrial buildings. Three of them were in retail buildings and two in industrial properties.
None of the office sales were significant enough to be included in the top ten. There were some office sales in smaller amounts, however.
This information is gleaned from public records in the county or municipality where the buildings that were sold are located. Although every possible effort is expended to check the accuracy of the information, some may be erroneous. The government agency that reports each one may inadvertently omit some relevant data.
The data does, however, indicate reasonably accurate trends in commercial real estate sales.
