A posh long-term care retirement community, Ingleside at Rock Creek will be constructing 15 luxury-type independent living apartments. Ingleside at Rock Creek retirement community is located at the Northwest district of Washington, DC.
The retirement community’s new independent living apartments are part of its expansion plan. It will also be considered as one of Washington D.C’s largest independent living residences.
Sizes will ranges between 1,600 to more than 1,800 square feet for the independent living apartments, and will be open in fall next year.
Health care administrator and executive director of Ingleside Ann Schiff said that the trend before, moving to a senior living community means losing enough comfort space in exchange for efficiency or studio-style unit.
The goal of the community is reversing the trend; Ingleside wants their residents to unload the hassles of owning a home but not their belongings.
Sizes of the independent living apartments also accommodates more active lifestyles of today’s seniors, because most of then tend to live a more active, healthier, and independently.
Most seniors are still entertaining friends and hosting family dinners, and most seniors would still like to set family tables in dining suites.
Residents of the independent living apartments, McCracken Apartments can choose from its five storey plan. It also features an internet connection, a terraces overlooking the Rock Creek Park, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and a nine-foot ceiling.
The luxury independent living apartments Wm L GRIFFITH & Co from Vienna is the builder, and designed by an architect from a Washington DC-based Shalom Baranes Associates.
Ingleside already receive deposits from half of the 15 independent living apartments.
