The September 15 tour includes presentations by GE and industry leaders, educational workshops to support Electric Vehicle planning, deployment and integration strategies, and electric-vehicle test drives.

The announcement came as Ferdinando Beccalli-Falco, Senior Vice President and the new CEO of GE Germany, bared the company’s EUR 85 million investment in the country to expand commercial presence there.

On the other hand, each tour segment provides a forum for GE experts to connect with local businesses, decision makers and public-sector stakeholders to discuss the business case for electric vehicle ecosystems.

The tour concludes with an “EV Ride & Drive,” featuring cars and trucks from a number of electric-vehicle manufacturers.

“Vancouver is a perfect place to highlight the growing need for an EV infrastructure to support the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles,” says Chris Bowler, general manager of marketing for GE Energy Industrial Solutions.

“Business leaders here are embracing the need for a viable EV ecosystem and setting the standards for Canada’s recent advancements in implementing clean, green energy practices.”

GE Energy Industrial Solutions is hosting the multi-city EV Experience Tour to help businesses and key stakeholders understand technical and business approaches for deploying pure electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

GE’s electric vehicle chargers, including the easy-to-use, award-winning GE WattStation* EV Charging Station, will be featured at the GE EV Experience Tour.

This stop of the GE EV Experience Tour will showcase the installation of several EV charging stations in restaurants, hotels and power facilities in Vancouver.

To date, GE Durastation chargers have been installed at Edible Canada, the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Powertech.
