Florida’s premier homebuilder WCI Communities has chosen design firm Kay Green to create the interiors for two single-family model homes under construction in Venetian Golf & River Club, the master-planned community in Venice.
The models will illustrate many of the options available to buyers who purchase a Classic Series single-family home in Venetian’s Otello neighborhood, stated WCI in a press release. Although the two models will have different color palettes and design styles and will appeal to unique demographics, they will share “seize the day” as their common theme, and enjoy the round of golf on Venetian’s 18-hole Chip Powell-designed golf course and an evening lounging on the lanai.
The project was made public after WCI Communities announced on July 20 the sale of 55 homes sold at Pelican Preserve since reintroduction of new home sales in July 2010. The 55 and better lifestyle community in Fort Myers, which is nearing 50 percent completion, is planned with a total of 2,500 residences.
On the other hand, the homes – the Agostino and Correggio – represent two of the three Classic Series floor plans in Otello, a neighborhood of 90 homes overlooking lakes and golf course fairways. Both models will open for viewing in November.
The design firm will take advantage of available floor plan options, providing two separate entries into a private room at the front of the nearly 2,400-square-foot home. Doorways from the foyer and master bathroom will allow the room to function as a den/gathering room or a home gym. A third option, not shown in the model, provides a fourth bedroom with full bath and walk-in closet.
“Having these two entry points into the multi-use room offers a variety of options for prospective buyers. They can choose their desired lifestyle for their future Correggio home,” said Kay Green, whose projects have been showcased in regional and national publications and industry magazines, including House Beautiful Kitchens/Baths, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Builder Magazine.
“Buyers can choose either entry door – or both.”
The Correggio offers a formal dining room and great room, which the design firm will paint with flavor and color – vibrant shades of aquamarine, midnight blues and golden highlights – to complement clean-lined furniture with light to medium tones and woven and weathered wood accents.
“It’s a fresh twist to the old ‘vapor’ hues – the soft blues and seafoam greens that have been popular in previous years,” said Green.
“The model will also showcase custom-selected sea-themed artwork that fits Florida’s Gulf lifestyle and will be designed as a second home with a vacationing family in mind. The merchandising will portray the picture of a family on vacation – beach gear, leisure books, activities like puzzles, and the fixings for a seafood feast,” she added.
Reflecting the theme of relaxation, the floor plan provides plenty of space to accommodate visiting guests and grandchildren. The guest bedroom features a view of, and direct access to, the pool and lanai.
A storage space on the lanai will be transformed into a pool bath – a measure that prevents dripping-wet children from running through the home, according to the designer.
The Correggio floor plan, priced from $321,990, also offers a private owner’s retreat with his-and-her walk-in closets, a two-car garage and 3,392 total square feet. The open floor plan combines great room and kitchen into a large gathering space with sliding glass doors out to the lanai and pool. The kitchen has a separate breakfast nook and a freestanding island with a breakfast bar.
For the three-bedroom Agostino, the largest floor plan of the Classic Series, the design firm envisioned a couple who enjoy entertaining and playing golf. Tone-on-tone hues of rich caramel will be accented with chocolate browns throughout the home’s 2,718 square feet of living space, which will be embellished with applied molding details on walls and ceilings. The model will have a traditional British West Indies look, with darker wood tones, rattan accent pieces and rich texture introduced in the fine fabrics used for furniture, pillows and bedding.
“The design of the home’s open floor plan, with great room flowing into dining room and kitchen, will wow visitors,” said Green.
“Homebuyers walking through this home will love the open floor plan with the spacious great room overlooking the backyard views through the wall of sliders,” she said.
“They will not be able to resist picturing themselves sitting on the adjacent lanai with a glass of wine after a long week.”
The Agostino offers 3,994 total square feet, including a two-car garage and separate golf garage. It has three full baths, a powder room and an owner’s retreat offering his-and-her walk-in closets and dual vanities in the bathroom. Both guestrooms have walk-in closets and private full baths; a den provides the option for a fourth bedroom.
The Agostino floor plan is priced from $353,990.
The Boretto is the third Classic Series floor plan offered in Otello. The three-bedroom, three-bath design has a den, two-car garage, separate golf garage and 2,643 square feet of living space. It is priced from $348,990.
Each of the Classic Series floor plans includes a laundry room, covered lanai and interior features, including tray ceilings in select rooms, tile in the main living areas, carpeted bedrooms and kitchens equipped with pantries and freestanding islands/breakfast bars.
Venetian Golf & River Club also offers two- and three-bedroom Grand Villas with 1,743 to 2,200 square feet of living space.
The 1,039-acre master-planned community, located along the Myakka River in Venice, offers an array of amenities, including championship golf and a 20,000-square-foot Golf Club, where members can enjoy fine and casual dining and a full calendar of events.
The Venetian River Club features dining with a view of the 70-acre Nature Park, as well as a fitness center and aerobics studio, spa rooms, lap pool, resort-style pool with cabana bar and six-court Har-Tru lighted tennis center. The Nature Park includes the River Walk boardwalk and picnic gazebo.
Venetian Golf & River Club is located within minutes of downtown Venice and the area’s renowned Gulf of Mexico beaches. Nearby, Sarasota offers numerous performing arts centers, as well as shopping and dining at St. Armands Circle.
