Avison Young, Canada’s leading real estate service company that is independently-owned, acquires an agency leasing, project management and tenant representation firm in Northern Virginia—Appian Realty Advisors, LLC. The company’s recent acquisition will help the company’s presence in the largest real estate market in Washington DC area, by adding a branch office in Northern Virginia.

The change in proprietorship will include 16 employees to the real estate service company’s U.S. Capital Region operations from Appian, including project management experts led by Tom Sandlin and Dan Gonzalez, and 12 other brokers. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Effective immediately after the deal, Appian Realty Advisors’ principals Tom Sandlin and Dan Gonzalez will become executives and Senior Vice-Presidents for the real estate service company’s Northern Virginia’s office.

Mark E. Rose, Chair and CEO of real estate service company, Avison Young said that his company is privileged to have Tom Sandlin and Dan Gonzalez as principals of the company’s Northern Virginia’s office.

Avison Young has begun its first office in the U.S., in Chicago, Illinois last year. The real estate service company also had other U.S. offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Houston, Texas, and Washington, DC, over the past six months.

For the last I year and 6 months, the company has already 20 offices from 11 offices, and about 700 real estate experts from 300, in the United States and Canada.

According to the real estate service company’s Managing Director for the Washington DC Capital Region Keith Lipton, Appian Realty Advisors has a client-centered approach, with genuine reputation that matches very well with the company’s business practices.
