It has become rather common knowledge of late that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is set to finally see the light of day onUSsoil this month, with the titanic Android powerhouse likely to be made available in slightly different forms for all four major national carriers.
Furthermore, according to the latest report fro inside the industry, we now not only have an exact release date for the AT&T variant, but also exactly how much devoted followers will be required to shell out for their own.
If the document is to be believed, the retail price will fall between the $199 and $249 range depending on the contract chosen, with August 28th penciled in as the all-important date. Needless to say, those unable to contain their excitement any longer or who may have been considering a $900 unlocked model from overseas may finally breathe at least a small sigh of relief.
Of course, as with all unverified ‘leaks’ from within the industry it is important to also take in the proverbial pinch of salt, as there is still officially no word directly form the horse’s mouth. Furthermore, as Samsung have already announced a major media launch event for the S2 to take place on August 29th, something really doesn’t add up between the two reports.
Still, stranger things happen in the industry all the time and with only a week or so to wait, you’ll forgive us all for already having our hopes up…
