AT&T is gearing up launch another two high-end Android Smartphones in the near future by two of the most popular brands in the business – by way of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and the new HTC Vivid.
According to the press release handed over by AT&T, both devices are to arrive side by side on November 6th and will feature the same 4G LTE Data Technology.
This latest version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 with the Skyrocket moniker is to be powered by a colossal 1.5GHz dual-core processor backed up by 1GB of dedicated RAM, along with a sublime 8 megapixel camera, 16GB of onboard storage and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread as its OS out of the box. Priced at $249.99 alongside the usual 2-year contract, the Skyrocket is likely to add numerous additional notched to the belts of both AT&T and Samsung, given the runaway success of the other versions of the S2 doing the rounds at present.
Meanwhile, HTC’s new Vivid is in fact that device that had long been rumored to be named the HTC Holiday. This similarly epic device will be running on Android 2.3.4 out of the box, while being powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor backed by 1GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera and a 4.5 inch Super LCD screen. Those looking to take home their own Vivid will be able to do so for $199.99 alongside the usual 2-year contract.
So, the question that remains is whether or not the two can hold their own against the likes of the iPhone 4S? In a nutshell, spec-wise there are always going to be devices that simply wipe the floor with the products of Apple, but when it comes down to overall user experience, the jury is well and truly out…
